I have photo images on a Photo CD. There are 6 pixel sizes, 5 profiles, 10 resolutions, and 4 color spaces available for each image. My problem is determining what combination to choose to bring in to Photoshop 6.0. Someone with Photo CD (not Picture CD) experience might know the answer. Thanks in advance for help. Herb |

Alot of that stuff is really going to depend on you and what you intend to do with the photos. Without a little information I'm not sure anyone can give you answer. Are these images going to be printed? 1)black and white/Grayscale 2)CMYK/Process Used on the web? 1)RGB <--(.jpg, etc) 2)indexed <-- (.gif) 3)Grayscale <--(whatever) What size image do you need and the end? (use this to determine what size/resolution to use) What OS you are working on will determine some of what you need. I'm at work at the moment and I'm about to run home... I'll check back in 30 minutes or so. Maybe someone else will chime in also. |

I very much appreciate your response. I was out until just now. I didn't want to load up my question but I'm happy to respond to yours. 1. The images are going to be printed using psd or jpg on an Epson 1280 or (perhaps one day) a larger printer. 2. I'm using Windows 98. 3. The original photos were 35mm Kodachrome slides. 4. I hope to produce 12 X 16 prints currently - perhaps larger in the future. 5. Any suggestions or ideas you might share would be welcomed. Any other questions I'd be glad to answer. Herb |
