I'm fairly literate with Photoshop, however I just encountered something for the first time. I was emailed some .psd and .ai files that I cannot open. I get a message in PS and Ill that says the images are not valid formats. In talking with the sender, they clearly are correct formats. I heard somewhere that email servers will occasionaly screw up images files. Anyone have any idea what's up? Thanks, Josen |

Good rule of thumb: I've used StuffitDeluxe (http://www.aladdinsys.com) forever and I always compress files before sending them, say from work to home or vice versa, and to exchange files with clients or family and friends. I've never had any trouble with files that have been compressed. The only time I've ever had trouble is trying to open files that weren't compressed before sending...that can be a hit-or-miss proposition. Just get some good compression software and get into the habit of using it. Takes a wee bit longer, but will save a mountain of headaches in the long run. |
