I would imagine Adobe certification is only helpful in situations where you have little or no actual work experience. I would know, since it took me over a year to get a job in graphic design without any work experience in the field. If a company was looking over two resumes of similar status, that whomever had adobe certification would look more appealing. Though real work experience, not just a test, is what most employers look for.

We don't look for it when we hire, and it wouldn't really matter if you had it or not. I don't and none of the persons under me have the ACE on our belt. What I look for is:
• Can you turn out work in a timely manner that will be profitable for the company?
• Can you produce a portfolio of your work. (more and more people can via a web page these days)
• Quality of that portfolio. (I dont care if it is stuff you printed out on your inkjet printer, some of the better work I've seen was)
• Can you deal with people? No, No REALLY "deal" with people, "steer" them, if you will.
• Lastly, Computer knowledge.... some of the best artist I know have NEVER done anything digitaly... but once they do.... WOOOOO!
•
Above all the regular "employee" guidelines, this is what "I" look for in GA people.

I would just like to add that when going to interviews, you pretty much have to be a yes man, and don't try to put your own thoughts into what questions are asked. If an employer asks "can you work under pressure", you HAVE to say yes. I'm not quite sure why employers ask such questions with such an obvious answer in order to achieve a position, but they get asked.
I guess they weed out the ones dopey enough to say no or falter when being given such a question.
