I'm thinking I could probably do it (never tried before), and I'd be likely to use XaosTools Terrazzo to create a regular tiled effect. Outside of just doing it for intellectual curiosity, I'd be inclined to look for a stock image, and adapt it to suit my purposes. |

If i was to create a chain-link fence effect, I'd do this. 1. Make a new layer. 2. Use the square selection tool, hold down shift and make a square. 3. Go to edit>stroke and stroke the inside of the selection with a gray color. 4. cut a small portion of the stroked square out at one of the corners. Not the actual corner, but adjacent to it. 5. Use whatever beveling option you have (given the version of Photoshop and filters you have available to you) on the layer. Be sure to rasterize the effect if it doesn't already get rastered with the filter/layer style you use. 6. Rotate the layer 45 degrees. 7. Then use some sort of tiling method. Either by manually duplicating the layer and merging them down, or make a grayscale pic to open with the texturizer filter in PS. That should do it. rust effects and other sfx to make the fence look more realistic is optional and not even about to be detailed by me here. |
