Aaaah. Wind effect drives me nuts!

Hiho...
I want to apply a wind effect to my text, but when I apply it, the wind kinda cuts into the text. But I want the wind to originate at the text!! Aaah, yesterday it worked :D I have no idea what I am doing wrong... hope you guys can help.

To make things a little bit more clear:

This is what I want (I did it yesterday... drop me an opinion, if u want to)

btw: it´s not the from the left/from the right thingy that causes this

duplicate your text layer.....

apply the wind effect to the bottom text layer and you should see where to go from there.

mmh... u want me to drag the bottom layer, hu? that doens´t quite look like I want it to... do u have any idea why it cuts into the text?!

It cuts into the text because thats what its suppose to do.

Duplicating and a little masking should do it. Its going to take a little work on your part to get what you are looking for.

Here's a hint. Make your text white. The wind filter also uses the color of your graphic to determine how much it cuts into it. White, I don't believe it will cut into it at all.

Then when you have finished using the wind filter, either change the color of the text by using a color overlay layer style, or use the hue/saturation control to change it.

ahhh, yes......

I was assuming you were working with white text on a black background.
