Hi,

Simple question I hope: How do you make text look like an indent into a previous object on the page, ie. a metalic sphere? (from the article here).

Ok, since this is the "New to Photoshop" help, I'll not give you the GOOD way (hands on difficult) of doing this. Fairly simple. Render the text layer, then apply an inside bevel to the layer (layer effects).

to apply layer styles to text (i.e beveled edges), the text layer does NOT have to be rendered. this is somewhat helpful if you want to change the text after adding a style :D
