Hi all! I have the following problem in PS6 (also in 5) When you have a layer that has something with much transparency in it (although the opacity of the layer is at 100%) then u can't Transform this layer (Scale, Skew etc) You can't also Ctrl+click on it's icon on the Layers list so it "Selects All" Anyone had this problem? All I can do to overcome it is clone the layer, Merge the 2 (repeat if needed, so the layer becomes opaque enough) then transform it and reduce it's opacity again but the result isn't always correct. Any suggestions? It just seems so silly! |

I don't understand how it can have "much transparency" yet its opacity is 100% Can you elaborate a little? All I can think of is make sure you have the "move" tool selected before trying to transform. ( I know you can transform with other tools selected.... but you can bot when you have the type tool or a few other selected.) It would also help if we knew what kind of layer it was.... raster? vector?..... type? |

Torn, I'm assuming he means the layer opacity is set at 100% but the contents of the layer are slightly transparent. (making a selection, then filling it with the paint bucket tool with a low opacity fill.) Snore |

When such a thing happens to me (having a low opacity object on a layer that can't be transformed), I make a manual selection by using the square, circular, or polygonal lasso around the entire perimeter of the nearly transparent object. That way, you can transform it. This method isn't perfect, because you don't get a truly accurate selection by any means, but this will allow you to do most anything you want with the hard to edit layer. BTW, if the object is so large that it goes beyond the canvas size and you don't want to cut any of it off, you'll have to adjust your canvas size to be large enough to make a full selection around the object. |

Do it like this: <img src="http://www.vi2.com/maxForumFiles/04SIG.JPG"> Also, it needs to be 25k or under in file size. You could remove some of that blank area, and probably cut it down. If you need to test it, please use the Test Forum :D |
