Help plz on Layer Properties - pshop 7

Well, have no idea what I did but now when i click on the "layer properties" choice in the layer mini-menu I cannot see the little window where one changes the layer title or other attributes. And when I ask to create duplicate layer, the little window is not shown. When i try and click on any Pshop working window, I get the "thunk" sound, meaning I must finish working with the layer mini-window first, which window I cannot see.

I am sure I must have inadvertantly changed a setting or option, but we looked at our other working copies of Pshop 7 and cannot see any differences in the preferences and "view" etc choice menus. How do I get the layer mini-window to re-appear, please? Thanks!

Be sure to have the pointer tool selected before you make your choice. That usually does the trick.
