How should I go about slicing an interface with stuff on the top and side. Example. It is dire that I avoid frames, anybody know how this is done?

OK, so are you saying that you DON'T want to use frames, but you still want the top and site to say put?

Exactly. I need to use this for several different layouts and I have.."Streched myself beyond my means" trying to figure it out.

Well theoretically, you could put your top and left pieces on a layer that was "above" the content, but you'd be safer using frames.

Ok here what you gotto do!

Under the left side you have to have a pic as same color as the bgk this you have to set as a table background... and then you have to make the content area a table with a certain height/width
(this stretches out if filled up). Now remember to set valign="top" on every table... Now if you fill the content area up the table bgk pic under the left side will stretch with the content and the site will stay put... you can see my code: www.dreamemotionz.net/main.html there i have done the exactly the same thing....

Hopes this help you... if you dont manage it just ask for help l8ter Im always in for helping my fellow designers ;)

Thanks so much, you're a great help. One more thing, to make my site viewable on 800x600 res and up I just center all my stuff on the page?
