KPT5 problem

Hi guys

I've just got my hands on KPT5 yesterday (after searching for a retailer for weeks), but after installing the updater, it asks for my name and serial number when I try to use Shapeshifter.

Nothing wrong with that, I suppose...but here's the problem...now the program does not accept the serial number I key in and says that it's an "invalid serial number". What's up with that?

I then tried searching the Corel site knowledge base for some help (apparently they don't provide any e-mail support) and it seems that my serial number is supposed to start with KF50xxx..., but my serial number starts with KPT-xxxx...!!!

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Ummm, looks like you found the wrong serial on the web.. ;) That's an old KPT3/4 serial. If you indeed did find a "retailer," and purchased the product, call the customer service number located somewhere in the paperwork (that you received with your product). Another thing, have you registered this product? If you haven't, they aren't obligated to serve you with ANY technical/customer support. Register>Support>Serial>Fun-Fun.

I think SavageDawg is under the impression that I'm using a warez copy of KPT5 :eek:

I ordered my KPT5 from Dymocks in Australia. I'm based in Singapore and none of my local stores sell it anymore...only KPT 6. Amazon doesn't ship software to Singapore, and Australia is the only country nearest to me that has English online-retailers who sell it...blah...

(FYI: Those considering buying KPT5 now might want to get it from an Australian online-retailer. I bought mine for A$179 including shipping, or approximately US$100)

It's the MetaCreations version and it came in an OEM-style cardboard-backed shrink-wrapped package (no box) containing only the CD, the Quick Reference Card, and a Technical Support Contacts sheet. The initial install went fine, and I registered it yesterday...and yes, the serial that comes up after the install DOES start with KPT-xxx...gofigger :confused:

Anyways, I finally found a local Corel support phone number from the site (no, there isn't one stated on the Contacts sheet) and the guy gave me a different serial number...and it's working now
