Missing Tools, help!

hello, i have adobe photoshop cs3.
It is my first time using it and i noticed theres some tools missing in the tool presents. For example when i click on the eraser tool, there is no tool to select. Alot of my tools are mssing in the tool presents. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Is there a place i can dowload them from?

Do you mean there isn't even an 'eraser' icon in the tools pallet?
