i have a problem with photoshop6 and the image size... let´s say i have 2 different documents. i made sure that they both have the same resolution and units and all. now i want to insert 1 of the docs into the other p.e. by pulling it over to the other one so it makes a new layer there... now the problem: before i pull it over i change the image size (Image->Image size) cause i want it to fit in a defined space of the other document which i have exactly measured before! the pulled over part is way (more than double) too large!! even if i look at its size it says for example 5.21 x 1,18 cm (i also tried points and all) and the part where it has to fit in is also 5.21 x 1,18 cm! And as i said before : SAME RESOLUTION, SAME VIEW, SAME SIZE SAME SAME SAME i just don´t get it. i also checked the EDIT->Preferences->Units... and made sure both docs are the same... so what can this be?! what are potential mistake-sources?! any idea...it´s very important....? please help jope888 |

Why does this forum suck just because no one has answered him five seconds after he posts? Maybe no one knows that answer to the question. There is no point in everyone on the forum posting to say they don't know the answer, is there? And if it bothers you so much that no one answered, why didn't you answer him yourself? Instead of just making a pointless post saying how we all suck. As for your question, I don't really know without seeing the files. I would think maybe when you resized the second image to fit into the first one, perhaps you accidentally changed the resolution. Other than that I don't really know. But why can't you just resize the imported image after you import it into the first document? That's what I always do... They don't have to be the exact same size to begin with. |

Exactly Deker. I only really post when I know an answer. And the guess you gave to his question is as good as anything I would have tried to give him. |

What sucks is people posting crap that doesn't bother to even touch the question at hand..... I have an idea though.... you don't like this forum?.... >delete it from your bookmarks.< The simple fact that the question was posted at 6:16 AM is enough to explain why it didn't get an immediate answer. About the size problem.... Take deker's suggestion and add it to the new image // THEN go >edit>transform>scale and size it however you want it. I would think deker is right about you accidentally changing the resolution when you changed the first image's size.... >make sure the size and resolution aren't locked in to stay proportionate. To do this make sure in the "image size" dialog the "resample image" checkbox is unchecked. |
