I have taken several photos with an infared camera but for some reason when i have opened the photos they all seem to be very 'red'. These photos are important so i just wanted to see if anyone could offer me some advise on how to filter out the redness in photoshop to get the picture back to its original state. Thanks |

It might be helpful if you could post a small sample image so that we can see what needs to be done. I use this site. http://www.pixentral.com/ |

A couple more questions might help to get on the same page. Which version of Photoshop do you have? Different versions have different tools. What do you expect the image to look like? You used infra-red, and that changes the natural colour. When I briefly tried removing some of the red tint, the rest of the colour doesn't look right. I have no idea what an infra-red photo should look like. |

I went into photoshop and messed with the Color balance under the Edit menu a bit. Now it appears to have an orange tint to it. The natural color, as George said, won't be stored. Here is what it looks like after I changed the balance a bit: http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1DKJG9miPMiby3sAPbRGQXrzXkhAq |

side by side proof it can be done. http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1BzqSqhBVQu5bEi2McZyNqHuiRPwwG http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1JuFHROcmtBOW6iiDE8nnTkxybhV here you go: full sized. There is a-lot of steps If you have a lot more important photos it would be best to find a good tutorial. Try Digital tutors http : // www. digitaltutors .com/ store / product . php? productid = 3098&cat = 25 & page = 1 minus the spaces. This is a easy to follow video DVD that i learned on. You could find it for cheaper other places on the internet just google it. "digital tutors Introduction to Photoshop CS3" |

You can go to Image/Adjustments/Selective Color. Make sure you have "Reds" in the colors drop down box. Experiment with the sliders, adjusting them to the left in differnet orders coming to the best conclusion. I hope this helps
