Greetings, my husband is into photography and I help with the photoshop end.. We were both discussing how this photographer got his pictures too look so cool, check out this site. http://www.andrzejdragan.com/ and see his personal portfolio. my husband really loves the black and white pics and was wandering how he got such rich shadows, really nice contrast, and a lot of the photos have kind of a luminious effect. Is this all done with the lighting when taking the pics?? any tips?

hi, i am just a novice. i was hoping some more qualified than myself would have answered first.. smile............ but i read a lot .. smile... first it always starts with the lighting..... i learned that a long time ago.. smiling.... you might want to look at doing inital editing in raw format if you can..... and then go to your regular editing.... in raw you have accessed to the full range of the tonal aspect of the picture..... and can do a lot of brightness and contrast changes there... and then in the regular editing then you can start out with curve adj... which always effects brightness and contrast, either the overall picture or probably doing cures on each channel.. this link has some examples and tip on that aspects http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/5-techniques-for-enhancing-contrast-in-digital-photos/ now looking at some of the pictures... possibly they also used some hdr tecnique... which broadens the tonal range...... so you may want to look at that...!! I took a look at retouchpro.com... if they had any real good threads.... the cover alot.... but still looking there.. like i said i am novice but i hope i was of some help |
