I have created a path using the pen tool. Of course, to get things right I have to move some of the anchor points. I believe that I should be able to do this by holding the Control key down while using the Convert Point Tool. Sometimes this works just fine, and other times the whole selection moves when I try to move the anchor point. What is the exact procedure for moving an anchor point? I am apparently missing a step so that this appears to sometimes work, and other times not. Cheers - george |

When you move an entire path using the Path Selection Tool, all the points are automatically selected. The thing is, they do not deselect when another tool is selected. So my hunch is that between editing points, you're sometimes moving the entire path using the Path Selection Tool, without being aware that this causes all the points to become selected. I can't find any other explanation, because an entire path will not move unless all its points are selected. My advice is just to double-check that the point(s) you are about to edit is the only one selected. Oh, and don't forget to click outside the path every time you move it with the Path Selection Tool. |

To move a single anchor point you need to change to the direct selection tool.
