I have been doing a lot of photoshopping lately involving the lighting effects filter. Unfortunately after producing about 7 images, the lighting effects option is no longer available. When i click on filters>rendering>where it normally gives the option for lighting effects, instead it is a grey text saying lighting effects but i can't click on it. I've tried re-installing but that didn't do anything. I have photoshop CS and Windows Vista so if anyone has any ideas of how i can fix this, that would really help as an entire project depends on it.

hi,
I am just a novice,,,
I would check my settings, did you change mode? in certain modes like lab or cymk lighting effects will be greyed out..... try imgage>mode>rgb that mode should give you back your lighting effects

Thanks for the help. That did solve the problem of my not being able to use lighting effects, but now I find myself in the same boat as a lot of people where the lighting styles drop down box is empty, and all of the presets styles are missing....Thanks for the help on the other issue though. I am going to post my new problem in another thread.

hi ,
great that issue is taking care of...l.. your welcome.... the other one.....
on your other issue... not sure about that one.. I think the first thing i would look at is looking in the cs folder>plugin>filters>lighting styles and make sure there listed there.....

did a little reserach and i found this link, has some possible answers...
