Hi I am new here and also new with photoshop. I have just started and I am finding it fun however I got very angry with something so simple tonight and I just can't figure out why. I have posted below my two major errors. 1) I was following a tutorial and it has asked me to create a new image say 300 by 300. Then fill this with a color. This is my first problem it wont let me fill with my chosen colour using the paint buket. Anyway I usually create a new layer to get round this problem, however if I do manage to get the colour I want on the background I apply a gradient but it has no effect (do I need to do something with the layer, convert to smart object etc?) 2) Finally and the most annoying when I come to try and use the texturizer tool it is grayed out in the option menu also grayed out is -Artistic, brushes strokes, sketch, & video) but the rest are ok. I have used this tool before without a problem at all and can't understand why it is not working now. I have tried everything from highlighting the layer, the object, I have tried texturizing shapes and backgrounds and not one will let me select it. I am wondering if the plug in has been deleted (I can't think how, if you do believe this is the case where can I download it from?) I would appreciate any help, Thanks in advance Steve |

hi, what mode are you in.... I think your in index .... try changing that to RGB and you should be able to so what you want... getting the color with the paint bucket, using the gradient and all your filters will now be darken... don't know what version of ps your using.... in cs..... take a looks at your menu image>mode |
