HELP: how to add vertical strokes effect (see sample pic)

Hi All,

Im new to photoshop and i'm currently trying to add this kind of effect to a picture of mine...

here's a sample picture of the effect that i want to achieve..SAMPLE PICTURE

I don't know the correct term for this kind of effect so i'm having troubles searching for a tutorial... Can someone please help?

hi,
on my ps cs under effects under filters>brush strokes ... the spray strokes or more likely the angle strokes effect would match something there doing in your image...


also another possiblity... if you find a nice ripple water image... you can maybe map that into the picture... an idea...

hi Jerry,

thanks for the reply, i've already tried playing with the Brush Stroke filters yesterday.. but on the sample picture i have provided, it seems the strokes have a darker or black shade...

wont a ripple picture generate circle-like waves over the image? instead of diagonal lines?

im trying to play around with a second layer to imitate the effect but in the sample picture it seems that the main picture also have diagonal strokes applied to it... thanks again for the reply =)

i managed to do the effect using the sketch filter... thanks!
