Hello! New here....with that apology aside...

I am trying to create pre-determined sized round graphics for a project that wil be printed out as a sheet & cut for use.

I can get the images to the circle shape, no problem...but the issue is determining the correct size of the circles to be cut. Let's say that I need them to be exactly 1.25", 1"...etc.

Is there a way to create a template sheet of such sizes, then apply the images to be cropped to those pre-determined sizes?

Unfortunately I do not have Illustrator, but I suppose I could open the images in CorelDraw to accomplish this. Haven't tried it yet.

Just wondering if there is a way to do this in Photoshop!

Thank you!

Hello,
- Activate the Elliptical Marquee tool
- In the Options bar, chose "Style: Fixed Size"
- In the "Width" and "Height" fields type "1,25 in"
- Click on the image to select a circle

To save the settings for later use:
- Go to "Tool Presets" palette (Window > Tool Presets)
- Click the "new" button and name the new preset e.g. "Circular Marquee 1,25"

Ok...well, I guess even typing out the question brought me to my own answer...so thought I'd share back!

(knowing full well that the gurus may still have a better suggestion!)

Pat on the back for the day directions..."Fake it til you make it"....

CROPPING IMAGES TO SET SIZE CIRCLES
(Wanted: 1" circles---can then be cut for pendants, keychains, etc)

1. Open New Document...set size to 1" square
2. Add New Layer (Ctrl +Shift + N --for folks like me)
3. Use Ellipse Tool (under the text button...again, for pp. like me) and begin at top of the box to draw the 1" circle.
4. Open the image you want to add (you may want to reduce the size first to prevent major cropping !)
5. Drag, using move tool, the image into your 1" image (creates Layer #3)
6. With Layer #3 still selected, hit the "Add layer Mask" button at the bottom of the Layers Palette TWICE (sorry, need I explain how else to do this?)
7. From Layers tab (at top , select "Rasterize" then "Vector Mask" (this removes the circle from the Ellipse tool
8. Save (jpeg) or drag image (locked layers) onto printable size new document (like an 8.5x11 sheet of paper!)

I wrote this hours ago & finally printed out...and it all worked great!

ahhhh
