Good quality conversions from RGB to CYMK

when Converting RGB images to CYMK I am noticing a drop in color,contrast and quality.
I want to retain the same quality as the original RGB image.
Suggestions please.

If you're converting to CYMK, I'm assuming that your pics will ultimately be used for printing. With this in mind, can I ask where you're seeing this drop in contrast and quality? Is it on your monitor, or are these problems showing up on the printed page? Another question: is your monitor calibrated, and are you using the same color settings as your printer?
