Remove Type From Scanned Doc

I scanned a doument in Photoshop 7.0 I saved it as a PSD. I am trying to take some type out and put in type with a different font without changing the background. Help !!!!

hi,
Sometimes it nice to see what it looks , many time one meathod maybe better than another to use....
I think one way i would maybe to that
1. either use the cloning or healing tool to eliminate the orginal text, set brush for soft or low opacity (so you don't get distinct edges)
2. then on a seperate layer, type out the new text/font you want
3. then just use your move tool to position the text .
