Can't use text.

I've tried resetting everything,
and it still comes up blank.
I click with the text tool, I type something in, in the color black on a white bg, font size 12, zoomed in 100%, and nothing shows up. In my layers box it shows what I typed, but I can't see the text at all.
I've moved it around to make sure it wasn't off screen, and changed the font multiple times. I've tried font size, color, even checked the settings, tried making a new layer (of course text makes it's own layer)
and as I said, I reset everything as well.

Sounds as though you have a very small number for the image resolution. Check the image size dialog. You may find it is set to one pixel per inch or some other very small number. Change it to 72 and try again.
