Hi I have just started to create my first website and have been making some snazzy buttons. I have used some layer effects like inner shadow and outer glow, but have run into a problems when dragging my layers into another photoshop file. When i drag the button and then resize it in the other document all my effects get messed up which is understandable because the settings were not meant for that size. so my question is how do you get roudn this, is there some way to like erm merge the layer style with its layer so that the effect will be preserved on resize. Ive been messing around for a whloe now and cant find anything . Thanks |

If you right click on the style and go to "copy layer style" then after u have dragged ur layer to a new document right click on the layer and go to "paste layer style"

Hi... You can try this... Right click on the button layer and click on Convert to Smart Object (it gives opportunity to resize the layer without losing the effect and if you later change your mind you can still adjust the style)... or if you aren't going to adjust the layer style you can make new layer under the button layer... then right click on the button layer and click merge down... it wil become a regular layer - could say it will merge down the layer style... (you won't be able to adjust the layer styles but if you need you'll be able to add new ones)...
