Hi, i am relatively new to photoshop, well very new in fact i can only do things that i learned from using fireworks.

My question is, which affects and filters do you recomend i use to improve the quality of this photograph, it was taken with a phone in the dark so is terrible quality.

I am not sure if doing something like this is possible, but any help would be greatfuly received

hi,
first I am novice like you.... so when experts come on they can give more solid advice....

like you said it poor quality.... very grainy, noisy, and dark...

I was able to bring out the picture...
by
1. doing a level adjustment and a little bit of a curve adjustment... that help out bring out the main details...
2. I tried my ps cs noise removal.. but got a better job done with neat image.... i think the new ps has a little better noise removal than mine...
had to be carefull not get too much noise removal because it ended up doing too much bluring...
3. did some sharpening.. i had to be care full on this... to not to over do it .....

I ended up with a little better picture.... but still a lot graininess... hopefully the epxerts have a couple of tricks to help alliviate that..

Pretty solid advice jerrylb

Noise reduction is a very image degrading tool so more often then not you'll get better results running a high noise reduction on "just" the blue channel (since thats where the majority of the garbage is located)
