when using the pen tool say I create a shape with the lines and I want a symmetrical other side, there doesnt seem to be a way to copy the pen tool points and paste them, then join them, so what do people do? Does everyone just make it a selection, fill with colour then copy it? Id really like a way to copy the pen points but Im guessing its not possible

Opps caps lock was on, so to duplicat a path you need to name the path, then right click on the path, and choose duplicat, But I am afraid I dont think you can join the two paths, if someone knows how, Id like to hear it |

Hi, I'm guessing you want to make one whole symmetrical shape out of one non-symmetrical path? Try this:- With the Path selection tool (black arrow), select the path you've drawn. Hold down Alt + Shift and drag to right or left to create a duplicate of the path. With the duplicate selected, choose Edit > Transform Path > Flip Horizontal Nudge or drag the duplicated path into the desired position overlapping the original path. Make sure both paths are selected by Shift + clicking them. Click 'Add to Shape Area' in the tool options bar Click 'Combine' in the tool options bar Edit: Forgot to mention, the Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal only works when you're working on a floating layer, not the background layer. |
