Whenever I use the text tool and start typing, all that shows up is a tiny line in the color of whatever I set the font color to be. How can I restore to the text tool to what it usually is. If you need to, I can provide a screencap of it.

check your font color and make sure it isn't the same as the background, also check the font size to make sure it isn't just really really small. basic answer, i know, but a lot of times it can be that simple. |

If a tool is not acting right, the best thing to do is?? Up in the top left corner you will see a box that resembles the tool you have selected, in this case a it is the "T" for text tool, click on the down pointing arrow, and you will see a list of tool presets, this is where you can create new presets for your tools, and you see another arrow in the top right of this dialog box, click on that and scroll down to the "reset tool presets" that should do the trick. |
