HELP!! I am creating an illustration from shots of new buildings and splicing them together. I have to add quite a bit of lawn in front of the image which will be 162" x 21". It needs to look photographic. Email is good....grayas@ornl.gov. Thanks

Nice tutorial jerrylb, that grass does look very convincing.

Another simpler (and less time-intensive) approach would be to get yourself a suitable high-res photograph of a lawn, select what you need and paste it into the area you need to cover with grass with some judicious feathering and colour adjustment. You might need to multi-paste and blur/overlap the edges with some blending to avoid lines where they meet. I've used this approach very successfully with water and don't see why it wouldn't work for grass.

hi rockbeer,
Your suggestion would be the first I would be thinking of also... copy and past routine.. but one of the reason i keep and work with that tutorial is to improve my techniques, which i need badly..smiling, and also shows me there other ways to do things and how to do them... ...

now your thoughts caused me to think a little more.... so i did a search for photoshop grass burshes... found a lot of them... looks like some of them be good in making realistic grasses... if treated right..
