ok....after viewing some pages, i've discovered that
image mapping seems to make pages load faster
(first of all is this true?)
than slicing up the pic in photoshop (not done it in img ready)
[2nd is there a diff from slicin' in ps or img ready?]

also, what are the benefits between
slicin' and using an 9image mapper prog?
what's the cons?

thanx

Really just depends on what you want to use it for. If you just have a small image with some buttons that don't need rollovers, and you don't want roll-down menus or anything on there, then use an image map.

If you want rollovers, and if the image (interface) is going to be large, then slice it up so people on 56k don't have to wait so long for a 150k interface load up. At least that way they will have something to look at and won't think that your page is not loading.

but
i never use rollovers (haven't figured that out yet )
but if i image map one image, that would be an .html
how could i have that top navbar (image mapped) be on the same
page with the graphic interface (sliced) by using frames, but
still have them aligned.

like my http://www.slugocity.cjb.net

suppose i had just sliced the part below the buttons, and from the buttons up i would have used a mapper, how would i
make it still look the same?

You don't have to use both. Use either-or. To make it easy, just use an image map. Since you don't know how to slice and use rollovers, then just use an image map.

Not only that, you've posted that exact same link twice in 2 different threads, and on BOTH of them you get a "404".

If you don't know how to make an image map, refer to the help files under ImageReady.

And one more thing, your last reply made almost no sense to me at all. If you prefer to repost that in English, it would be greatly appreciated.

oh well, u answered the question anyways...
and u can image map w/ image ready??

i had been using coffeecup image mapper, but that only does links, i can't get it to let me make div overflows and stuff.

o, and the keys on my keyboard tend to not be the easiest to type with hehe...so the "y" tends to get lopped off
