getting the text behind photo

hey all.... awesome site... just what i need!

just looking for some help about getting text behind a photo... like say i had a person that i wanted the text to go behind but wanted to show rest of background...in the same layer or a different layer?

would be awesome if someone knew.....

hi,
Now there different ways of doing it... now I am just a novice but one way I would do it in ps cs

1. go ahead and create your text layer
2. then on the main picture select your person....
3. then a simple copy and paste.... that will put theselected person on a seperate layer....
end result should show the selected object on top layer, then your text layer and then the main picture and with that sequence the text will appear to be behind the person but yet in from of your background....

there probably better ways... but i am just a novice...
