Help selecting contents of a layer

Hi Guys, I need a little newbie help. When I was working on Windows I could CTRL + click on a layer and the entire contents of the layer would be selected by the marquee tool. However, I'm now on a Mac and I don't know how to get this done. Any help?

Hey thanks a lot, it was the thumbnail part that was tricking me up!
