Hi all, got a big prob that i just seem to have noticed, probably cos i don't do much of this procedure. But : I got a document 200dpi. did a circle using the circular marquee, filled it, contracted it by 85pix, deleted to make a ring. the prob is, the contracted selecting is no longer a circle - it has definite "sides" to it. i tried w/ a more complex shape, a star, and it's utter, UTTER garbage! see the attached - i stepped the star down in 20pix increments to see why is was getting so bad. http://www.purgatori.net/rubbish.jpg now, i need to do this stuff for some design work and this is pathetic for a program as advanced as PS CS2. 200dpi should, i'd have thought, been plenty for this kinda thing. has anyone else come across this? any suggestions as to what i can do to get around/fix this?? TIA.... |

Hi there, Try using the Select/Transform Selection option instead of the Select/Modify/Contract option. You should get a cleaner selection that way. You might also want to consider using paths for this as they tend to give a crisper edge to a shape. Hope this helps. |
