Newbie Photoshop CS3 Help

First let me say I am VERY new to photoshop with little to no experience.

I recently purchased a web template from TemplateMonster.com and I am having trouble saving the changes I make to the .psd source files and I am unable to save the new images from the .psd file.

Once I open the file, I can make changes fine to the text in buttons etc, but I can not save those new images. I have followed the directions listed here, http://www.templatemonster.com/help/9/49. But no luck. I know I am doing something wrong but have no idea what.

The problem seems to be I cannot access the slices so I can use the “Save for Web” option and select the slices I want to save the images from.

No matter what I do I only see one slice. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
