Someone please tell me how this picture was done........ I don't now how to post it online. But I will describe it. It is a senior portrait of a guy who played basketball and baseball, and there is a blue background with his name on it, then several action shots of him but it appears as though he is standing beside himself and there are 2 rows, all different poses and different uniforms/action shots. I know he wasn't cut out and pasted on the background. The author of the books says the effect is "relatively simple" but doesnt say how to do it. It appears as though the picture was taken that way though. Could someone please say how you would do this in detail and not just say "with layers". Please tell me click by click. Thanks. Oh my account says im not allowed to post attachments. Why?

Have you tried Photobucket or Imageshack? If you scan it and save it, you can upload it on those sites. I can't give you click by click, cause it's the same thing over and over. Just open your pictures, and put them all in one new document. They'll end up in different layers naturally. On each person, just erase the background around them till its just the person. You'll probably want to used a feathered edge button to get the bigger parts erased, then just use a regular brush to go in & get the details. Also, you might want to zoom in till you see the pixils so you get all the background off. Then, after you do that to alll the people, just use your Move button to position them in a row. If you want to edit the picture as a whole go to Layers>>Merge Visible and then edit them. It'd help if there was a picture, but im guessing thats what you were talking about? |

Thank you Torri. Thats exactly what I was talking about and I kinda had that Idea that thats how it was done. So I have to select the subject on each picture then Im assuming I click Select>Inverse>? How do I delete the Background? Or how do I make it transparent? Because when I just click delete the background is white.

If it's in a new layer, then it shouldn't go white. Just erase around the person. Your background layer should be the first picture, and the base [it will be locked]. Then, you just put the other layers on TOP of that one, and when you erase their background, you'll see that your not actually erasing the base layer. The problem with this type of picture is to get the lighting to look correct. It's going to be different pictures taken in the same place but in different positions, so the lighting will change naturally. I'd love to see this when your done. I hope I clarrified any questions you had. |
