Split An Image In 2 Halfs

Can anyone tell me please how to split an image in 2 halfs with like a ripped effect im useing CS2...

open the image in PSP.
set a new guideline exact in the middle, tick the option "snap to..."
then use the square select tool to make a selection from one edge
of the pic to the guideline.
copy / paste into a new picture
get back into the other picture. go selection / invert selection.
copy / paste in another new picture.

you could do this horizontal or vertical, i think this is the easy way.
maybe someone more lazy knows a better way to do it.
