Greetings - this is my first question here. I use Photoshop 6.0.1 on XP Home, SP 2. I have been unsuccessfully trying to create a transparent gif, which is composed of an image, one word on the left side of the image, one word (some font/color) on the right side of the image, and a group of 3 words in a blank area of the image. I created a new file in CorelDraw, exported it as a jpg, opened it in Photoshop, selected the Magic Wand tool, selected the entire file, then hit "delete", but the gray/white checkered background did not appear, although the flickering lines were around all parts of the image/file. ARRRRGGGHHH! If anyone can give me some help, I would truly appreciate it. Thank you. |

Not sure if this will work in Photoshop 6, but let me know if it doesn't and I'll try something else! Go into photoshop Open the JPEG Go to your layers window (is usually already showing) I think that jpegs are normally locked, if there is a little lock image on your layer, double click the layer and click okay to unlock it. Not sure if the directions are very clear, let me know if that didn't work and I'll see what else I can do. |

Sorry, hide the white background layer, and save as PSD to import in CorelDraw. The JPEG will be flattened, you'll need a PSD or TIFF |
