Hi! Luckily I found this forum! I hope that my message came to the right arena. So, I have been doing a layout for my homepage. I use Photoshop (of course): just draw the layout and make slices. Okay, I did my previous lay about one year ago but I still remember the basics. Now I however have a new problem which relates to the background of the layout. I don't want to show my ready layout so I did an image which is similar like mine. http://i14.tinypic.com/6310qz9.jpg As you see there are the contents (white) layer with drop shadow and then the background with grids and gradient colour. And my problem is how to slice and code that the background repeat correctly. I have tried many ways but anything hasn't worked. Have I posted this topic to the wrong arena because this relates also to CSS and xhtml? |

you can't really repeat a diagonal gradient. you could have a diagonal grad on top left of first layer - fading-out to white and not repeating. on top of that you could have another layer with transparent gif with repeating grid.

Hi. Try making your grid much smaller. If I remember correctly, all you have to do is make two perpendicular lines at the edge of a square. I uploaded an example, which is probably larger than you want, but it show how to do it. This should repeat across your page with no problems. And yes, you need to keep repeating bkgrounds square. |
