help plz: changing blond hair (dreads) to black???

can anybody help? I've tried to follow instructions given in tutorials for brunette to blond, blond to redhead etc but none of them seem to work for blond to black.

thanks, but I tried to paint it in bacl and use the "soft light" mode but even at the highest opacity my hair just goes this bronzey color with specks of black and yellow:confused:

I made this a while ago, it was originally a flat greyscale. Each color on the lady is a separate layer.

One of our favourie adjustment combos is to: Adjust Exposure, then variations.
