I am currently designing a web layout for a friend of mine and currently stuck with the tables part after slicing. I am not sure whether its my slicing, but after cutting up my site in photoshop, I export it into DreamWeaver. I followed exactly what this tutorial has said. It's in 2 parts: Part 1 http://www.jslane.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=273 Part 2 http://www.jslane.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=274 The thing is that the tutorial shows the slicing for one content box and not for 2 or more. The problem I am getting is that when I enter text and hit enter several times, the navigation on the side stretches down. Is there a way to enter text and let the contents box stretch but let the navigation/menu table stay in one size/not stretch down. And is there a way to do the same for the navigation/menu table to stretch down without affecting other tables to stretch or go down the page? Below are three links to 3 different stages of the site. This is the photoshop stage after slicing. http://www3.webng.com/mos3dalbum/photoshop+slices.bmp This is in Dreamweaver showing the tables after following the tutorial I mentioned above. http://www3.webng.com/mos3dalbum/dreamweaver+tables.bmp This is the preview in Dreamweaver showing the streched down contents box after inputting text in the menu on the left side. http://www3.webng.com/mos3dalbum/streched.bmp Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. |

One of 2 things : Either scrap trying to build the site with tables and use a fluid CSS layout. (suggested) or Use a div for the content area. (it will work but it will be kind of clunky and different browsers will display it differently) |
