O.K. I created this sig. I want everything behind the letters deleted. I can't figure out how to get rid of it. I just want to show the letters and delete all the white behind it to be clear.. here's a link to what it looks like currently.. thanks in advance. as you can see by the gap here... You would really be able to tell if It was a black background. |

You have to use a file format that supports tranparency to have transparency. Use the FILE > SAVE FOR WEB function and select .gif or .png as the file format. If your photoshop file has a transparent background those file formats will too. |

I know little about PS but have also wanted to transfer something without white behind it and I did so by creating a new transparent work surface, then put the typed letters on that and saved them. When I opened other files, I could transfer the letters only - no white background - to the new file. I have also had photo files that were scans of drawings and wanted only the drawing itself, not the white background. I used the magic wand to delete all the background then would move just the drawing wherever I wanted. I have no idea if these techniques would transfer to web applications, though. |
