Hi!
I'm a newbie in photoshop, I've made a selection with the magnetic lasso tool, but how can I save only that part of the image as a new image?
Thanks!

With your selection active, go CTRL + J to make a new layer from the selection. In the layers palette, right-click the layer name and choose 'duplicate layer'. In the duplicate layer dialog box, under 'destination', choose 'New' to create a new document from the selection.

Thanks for your answer. But this way I'll save the selection with a lot of "white" around it. I want to save as a new photo just the selection itsself, I don't want any white around it. I don't know if you understand what I try to say. I mean I want to "crop" the image in the form of the selection. Is this possible?

Maybe I'm not understanding you. If you want to crop the image why don't you use the crop tool?

Yes, it is possible. The thing is, if you use the method Wano explained (CTR+J and stuff) and then you save the image as a .jpg you will get white around the image. To keep the transparency around it you'll have to save as .png of .gif.
