Is it possible to make a face come out of a tree trunk?

I'm somwhat of a PS newbie, but I know my way around. I want to put my face on a tree trunk and make it look like its part of the tree coming out. Is this possible or is there a plug-in to do this sort of thing? Thanks.

It is possible. Draw a line round the face woth the lassooand then save as a Tiff file.
Bring in the tree pic and then drag and drop the face pic onto the tree. It will appear as a new layer. Soften up the edges of the face with 2or 3 pixels feather. The key to sucess is in drawing round the face so enlarge it and be precise.
