I have made a curved shape to be used as a "rounded corner" on a section of a webpage. Background is white and the curved bit is #09b (0:153:187). However, when I use the url ( I called it corner.gif) in the CSS, the image, on the actual page, is a slightly different color: 44:154:181. How should I have all the various color settings set up - for example, what should I have ticked in View/Proof Setup? I have been trying various things so that the color of the image in Photoshop is the same as when I put it on the page, with no success. Thanks |

All this is actually just "thinking aloud" but I'll throw it out there even though you may have tryed it all. Try the full 6 digit hex value When saving the gif, be sure you are using the "save for web" option. Insure transperancy is off and the "matte" setting is blank. (had a crazy matte thing one time) Its possible that the gif fotmat can't get to the color you want so its just getting close. Try .jpg |

tornupinside It was simple when I really got down to it. I tried all the things you suggested to no avail so went back to the beginning. I had set the color by filling in the values for the background and foreground and it looked OK. Just now I went looking for the Paint Bucket tool - well hidden it was but I found it eventually and used that on the image. I hadn't before. The color still looked just the same but after I had saved the image and placed the new one in the CSS the color on the page changed to the correct one. I really need to study the tutorials and familiarise myself with all the tools I think. Thanks for the reply! |
