Clearing up text in a photo

This is a bit different from what i'm used to, in that instead of actually creating something, i'm trying to clear up a photo. Basically, my friend took a photo (not scanned, but an actual photo) of a story he wrote in the form of printed text pasted onto a sheet of paper. Well, we need to know what it says pretty much word by word, and he doesn't have the file he printed it from or the paper anymore. The photo isn't the best quality ever, and while some of the text is readable, a lot of the text is barely so or not at all. I've already tried everything I could think of as far as contrast, saturation, brightness, and adjustment layers go. I don't think there's much else I can do, but I figured it can't hurt to ask. Many thanks in advance.

Yeah, there's only so much you can do and it seems like you've pretty much tried it! Only other thing I can think of that might improve it is if you look at each of the colour channels separately and try all the adjustments you've done so far on them.
