i know there must a simple answer to this...something i've missed.....in the cs3 beta I am selecting the round rectangle tool, then i want to fill it and give it stroke, but when i try to select it doesn't seem to be there. Selecting it from r/click in the layer selects pixels in the entire window. How do i select just the rounded rectangle I drew and what am i doing wrong. |

The rounded rectangle tool produces a vector path filled with your forground color if you have the option selected in the options bar. To stoke it use "stroke path"

i am UNABLE to select the rounded rectangle. The only way i can select this is to go to paths >menu>make selection I find this rounded rect tool annoying in cs3. For example, if i create a rectangle and want to do a glossy look i can only choose the marqee tool because the rounded rect cannot be edited directly. |

The rounded rectangle most certainly CAN be edited. If you are indeed creating a "path" and not a vector shape you can go to the "PATHS" pallet and simply right click on the path (in the paths pallet) and select fill or stroke. If however you are creating a vector "shape" I see these options are greyed out. Again, check the options bar and insure you are creating a "path" not a "shape". |
