Urgent photoshop help!

I just got photoshop 7.0 and I wanted to experiment with it. I had a look on a lot of online tutorials and they keep asking for the "elliptical marquee tool". I looked and only have the rectangle tools and the crop tools. I also cant find the bucket to fill things in with colour, please help!

okay sorry about the first question, I hit shift when opening the menu, but am I meant to not have a paint box?

In photoshop, when you click and hold down on a tool in the tool box, sometimes.... just sometimes.... it pops open and has other tools there too.
