Can I make images in photoshop...such as the menu (after the entry) on this site: http://www.metropolitainbrasserie.com/ If no, what program would have created this? |

Elements of that menu were most likely created in Photoshop, but the coding is all flash.

Elements.... The graphic elements The metal looking parts The animated tenticle looking things in the background of the menu The specific answer to your question is *yes* I think the graphic elements were indeed created in PS. However the movement and stuff was produced in flash. A book? Books can't teach you talent, they can help you along if you already have it. (no disrespect intended) On the internet there are hundreds of thousands of tutorials dealing with all aspects of building GUI's (graphical user interface). I suggest You nail down what you wan't to learn and then start tracking down tutorials dealing with that subject matter. |

I'll see what I can dig up for you... Alright, I went back through my half million bookmarks and found a few old tutorials on making complex shapes and interfaces. If you are looking for a tutorial to show you how to make that menu specifically of course you aren't going to find it. However if you read tutorials about making interfaces and complex shapes. Then use a little creativity to apply what you've learned on what YOU want to make it works out nicely. Complex shapes: http://www.aqa-d.se/ny/pstips/interfx/complex.htm Basic interface: http://www.aqa-d.se/ny/pstips/interfx/remps5/remps5_1.htm The little intricate pieces at each end of the of that menu look to me like they could be produced with a combination of AQ's complex shapes tutorials and maybe a wire or pipes tutorial. Wire: http://www.aqa-d.se/ny/pstips/interfx/wires.htm Pipes: http://www.aqa-d.se/ny/pstips/interfx/goldpipe.htm |
