Say I have an image of a person and I want to crop it out so only the person is present.. how is this done :confused: I have 7.0 |

I am not an expert. But I did something similar to this when I only wanted a train in my photo. I used the "Magic Wand Tool" to select the areas I didn't want in the picture. Then I deleted them. Make sure you change your tolerance when you are selecting the areas of the picture you don't want. If there is a similar color that is in the person and somewhere else in the picture this command will select both of these areas. What I did was once I had the edge of the train defined and deleted by using the "Magic Wand Tool", I just deleted the rest of the background without using the tool. Then I changed my background layer to transparency. When I was done all I had left was the train (although it was still a rectangular picture with the non-train parts of the picture just transparent background). I am sure there is different way to do this, and it may be an easier way as well. I hope this made some sense. Marlin Thorman |

I would suggest using a layer mask instead of straight out deleting. Then you can go back later and change exactly what you want displayed and what you don't. Google for "photoshop layer mask tutorial" or something. tom |
