There is probably a simple explanation for this but please bear with a beginner. The page setup in my copy of Photoshop CS2 defaults to Letter. How can I change this to A4?
Many thanks for any replies / help.

I'm guessing you mean when you open a new file?, if you click the drop down box in the file/new/preset, theres lots of preset options there, including A4 further down. Wayne

Hi, thanks Wayne, but I mean the actual Page Setup defaults. If I have a file open and I look at the Page Setup, the default is page size is always "Letter". Is there a way of changing this to A4 without having to do it every time I open Photoshop - anyone?
Thank you,
John

I think you may be referring to the Page Setup Dialog (File > Page Setup)

If so, you can alter the defaults by clicking on A4 in the Paper Size drop-down menu, then clicking on Save As Default in the Page Attributes drop-down menu. This setting only sets the default paper size and orientation for the printer you are outputting to, and you will still have to set a size for any new document you create in the New File dialog box (File > New)

Hi John

I answered your post from work, where I use CS. Double-checking in CS2back at home, I found that the dialog is slightly different: there is no settings/page attributes drop down menu. Instead, you click the Printer button to open another dialog where you can set the printer/page properties.

(Again, these settings do not set your document size, you do this in the File > New dialog)

Hope this clarifies it!

No problem, John. I just hope my first post didn't confuse you too much! ;)
