Just wondering, why would you want to make wallpapers for mobile phones HD? They have very limited disk space to begin with. Anyways, you can still use Photoshop to make them. No different from any wallpapers.

The quality of just about anything is determined by size. More pixels = better quality. Im no expert with phones, but most will not display huge images nor the quality you have in mind. Or if they do, the phone's software will probably resize them for you. So to answer your question, just make LARGER wallpapers. Then resize them properly to fit the phone. What you'll need to do is carefully resize them, to retain as much quality as you can. Resize in small amounts, sharpen etc. Until someone makes big/better screens, thats pretty much all you can do. |

You can't add pixels to an image, unless you make it bigger. If 240px x 320px is the size you need, your pretty much stuck with it. What you can do though, is when creating your wallpaper, create the image at like 480 x 640 (200%). Then use higher quality graphics/photos and slowly resize the final image back down to 240 x 320. Basically your faking a quality look by carefully throwing out pixels each time you resize, other than all at once. The usual rule is to resize by 10% each time. Also just so you understand how pixels work, take HD video as an example. A common size would be 1280 x 720. That's HUGE compared to the screen on your phone. |
