Change Color of Object....

I have a photo that has a Black car in it which I need to change to a bright yellow. I have tried to use "color" to change the color but it is not the bright shade of yellow that I need. What is the best way to change the color of the car without losing any of the shadows, lines, etc.

Starting with a black car you are going to be limited as to a "quick" color change and the brightness you can acheive.

The method most used is to duplicate the layer Make a nice precise mask around the object and the go
EDIT>ADJUSTMENTS>HUE AND SATURATION
check the colorize checkbox
and use the sliders to make the color you want.
